Dr. James Charles Woodward
Dr. Woodward regularly performs the Double Bass with the Gadsden Symphony. Every great once in a while, you can see him solo with the Double Bass (but it is even more rare than piano and organ).
YOu want me to play what?!
Dr. Woodward has recently been providing substitute organ services in churches throughout Northeast Alabama. He most often provides music for the Sunday morning service at First Presbyterian in Jacksonville, Alabama, but can be seen here and there. Check the Upcoming Events for where he will be next!
Jack of all trades, master of none, but at least we can have some fun! Need me to try something new? I'll give it a try! I've played the Ukulele, Recorder, Tuba, Euphonium, Guitars, Tenor, Soprano (that was a rough 8 months), various percussion, and whatever you've needed before, and it's been a lot of fun. Let me know what you've got in mind!
If you need something, I'll give it a try...
Dr. Woodward has made guest piano soloist appearances with the Classics Philharmonic (San Diego) and the Georgia Symphony Orchestra (Marietta) performing his piano concerto and his children's book "When Rebecca Woogie Came to Town". While he has more than paused any thought, hope, or even desire for a solo piano career, he can be coaxed into an accompanying gig now and then. Check with him to see if he still has the chops to provide a piano accompaniment for you.
